How Centvra works

Tell us what you need. See which suppliers fit

Finding names of GRC software suppliers is relatively easy. Knowing which products fit your organisation is harder. Product capabilities matter, but so do industry experience, regional presence, hosting, integration, delivery model, implementation effort and the effort required from your team. These factors often surface too late. Centvra helps you define what matters before you shortlist, then explains the reasoning behind each recommendation.

Centvra is free to use. Your tailored Supplier Evaluation Report will be sent to your corporate email address.

How it works

From your own words to a shortlist you can defend

Describe your need in your own words. Centvra turns it into structured requirements, filters and evaluates suppliers, and provides the materials needed to take the evaluation forward.

What the platform does

  • 01Reads your description and identifies the relevant product line
  • 02Guides you through the requirements that determine fit
  • 03Excludes products that cannot meet firm requirements
  • 04Returns a focused shortlist with fit explanations

Describe the need

01

Describe your requirement in a few sentences. You do not need a formal specification, a software category or supplier names.

Your words

We need ERM software for our regulated financial services group in Malaysia, with selected TPRM capabilities and support for local regulatory requirements.

Clarify what matters

02

A curated questionnaire turns your description into structured functional, regulatory, technical, commercial and implementation requirements. Centvra explains unfamiliar capabilities as you go, helping you decide what genuinely matters rather than simply ticking a feature list.

Monte Carlo simulation Risk aggregation Third-party questionnaires ISO 27001 Multilingual support

Review recommended suppliers

03

Products that cannot meet a firm requirement are excluded rather than simply ranked lower. The remaining products are evaluated using predefined matching rules and contextual weightings. Your shortlist explains why each supplier fits and what still needs validation.

Take the evaluation forward

04

The Supplier Evaluation Report, Demo Preparation Guide and Software Buying Journey Guide help you compare products, prepare internal stakeholders and plan what follows the shortlist. You can later ask Centvra to facilitate demo introductions with the shortlisted suppliers.

Understand why each supplier was shortlisted

See each supplier's overall fit score, fit indicators, matched capabilities, strengths, trade-offs and areas to validate. The report also records your requirements and shows relative indicators for investment and implementation effort, giving you a clear basis for internal review.

Run demos that test the product

Use requirement-led questions to test whether a capability is demonstrated rather than merely claimed. The guide highlights supplier-specific areas to clarify, what to look for during the demo and what to follow up afterwards.

Built for complex software decisions

GRC software cannot be compared on features alone.

GRC products are difficult to compare because supplier terminology varies, product lines overlap and implementation constraints matter alongside functional capabilities. The right choice depends on how these factors come together in your organisation.

Suppliers use different terminology

The same capability can be described in different ways, while similar terms may cover very different levels of functionality.

Product lines overlap

Third-party risk and operational resilience, for example, may need to be evaluated together. A specialist product may fit one need better, while broader coverage may matter when related requirements must be managed together.

Requirements affect one another

Hosting, data residency, integration, budget and delivery expectations cannot always be assessed as separate filters. A decision in one area may restrict the viable options in another.

Capability depth varies

Two products may both claim a capability but support it at very different levels.

Centvra's questionnaire, supplier information and matching rules are built around these differences. Define what matters first, then evaluate suppliers against it.

Where software searches usually start

Five ways to find suppliers. Finding is not the same as evaluating fit.

Each can surface useful suppliers or market context. On its own, none evaluates the full combination of your requirements, preferences and deal-breakers against a specific product.

Peers

Gives you

Real experience from someone who has used the product.

Gap

Their industry, scale, systems and obligations may differ from yours. A product that worked for them may not fit your organisation.

Search engines

Gives you

A fast view of suppliers in the market.

Gap

Results can be shaped by advertising, search optimisation and the volume of published content. Visibility is not the same as fit.

AI assistants

Gives you

A quick introduction to an unfamiliar software category.

Gap

General-purpose AI responses are probabilistic and may vary. They are not designed to apply a consistent matching method to a curated and maintained supplier dataset.

Software directories

Gives you

A broad supplier list, filters and user reviews.

Gap

Long supplier lists and reviews take time to assess. Reviewers' requirements and operating environments may differ from yours.

Analyst reports

Gives you

A structured view of established suppliers and how analysts assess the market.

Gap

Suppliers rated as market leaders can appear to be the best choice. These ratings are based on broad market criteria, not your organisation's requirements. A specialist supplier may fit you better.

The common thread: These five methods only surface suppliers. Centvra handles the next step: defining your exact criteria and evaluating products against them.

How AI is used

AI reads and explains. Rules decide

Centvra uses AI to interpret your opening description and present the reasoning in your shortlist, Supplier Evaluation Report and guides.

AI does not decide which suppliers are matched or how they are scored. Your requirements are evaluated against curated supplier information using predefined matching rules. The rules are applied consistently, and each score can be traced to the requirements and supplier information behind it.

What to know before you start

What the shortlist represents and how Centvra is funded

Scope

What a shortlist is and is not

Centvra evaluates suppliers within its curated catalogue of GRC and related specialist software. The catalogue does not include every product on the market, so the shortlist does not claim that no other product could be suitable.

Suppliers decide whether to accept a demo request. A strong match does not guarantee that a demo will take place.

Funding

How Centvra is funded

Centvra is free to use. A supplier may pay Centvra a fixed referral fee when we facilitate a demo introduction requested by a buyer. The fee is not based on the value of any resulting contract.

After the introduction, discussions and negotiations remain between the buyer and supplier. Centvra does not participate in the negotiation or receive a share of the resulting contract.

Centvra may also produce commercial market reports based on aggregated and anonymised buyer requirements. These reports do not identify individual buyers.

Keeping information current

Supplier information changes

Centvra reviews and updates supplier information as it becomes available. Capabilities, certifications, investment levels, product packaging and commercial terms may change. Validate anything decision-critical directly with the supplier.

If something we show appears incorrect, contact us at contactus@centvra.com.
